This original farm house was built in 1843 and offers a unique blend of historic character and modern comforts. Here, you can immerse yourself in the rhythm of farm life, explore the natural beauty of the region, and savour the serene environment. Whether up early or simply enjoying the night sky free from city lights, Wellwood provides a unique and rejuvenating retreat. Two of the three bedrooms have doors leading out onto the front stoep, allowing you to catch as much of the fresh Karoo air as possible, even when relaxing on your bed with a good book. The interior includes authentic touches that reflect its storied past.If you want to embrace the outside or simply sit in front of the fire place, you can enjoy your serene and tranquil escape. Outside, a short stroll from the house leads you to a beautiful sunset or sunrise spot. Perched on a gentle hill, this vantage point provides an unobstructed view of the sun casting shadows on the mountains ahead of you, painting the sky with vibrant hues of orange and pink. It’s the perfect setting for a peaceful evening with a glass of wine, crisp morning with a cup of coffee or simply soaking in the natural beauty. Wellwood farm is located between Graaff-Reinet and Nieu-Bethesda with only 2km of well maintained dirt road off the Owl Route (R61) allowing you to visit town easily and effortlessly.
